Project Complete

We finally finished painting the downstairs bathroom! It only took me two years to decide what color to paint it. Of course, the project took a lot longer that I thought it would. I even tried to plan in extra time when thinking about how long it would take, but we overshot that too. At least it’s finally finished!

Here is what the bathroom looked like before…

The green square is there because at one point I thought I wanted green. After seeing it on the wall, I was sure I did not want green anymore.

Jesse worked so hard on getting this bathroom done. Didn’t he do a fabulous job??

The hardest, most time consuming part was taping off walls to make sure out strips turned out straight. Even with the level it is very tricky to get the tape down perfectly. They make it look so easy on HGTV.

My inspiration for this bathroom came from this website a friend showed me, Young House Love. They completely re-did every room in their house. I saw the bathroom project and knew that would look great in our bathroom.

Happy Birthday Andrew

Today is my “little” brother’s birthday. He turns twenty! I remember the day he was born. I don’t remember anything about seeing him as a newborn though… I just remember getting picked up from school that day by a friend from church. I can’t believe I’m now old enough to remember something that happened twenty years ago. Weird!

We are planning a family birthday dinner for both him and Jesse (their birthdays are a week apart) next week after the rest of the family is in town for Christmas.

Here’s a quick look at how he changed, just a little, over the years. Happy birthday Andrew, hope you enjoy another great year!

Darth Vader

After completing a sleep study a couple of weeks ago, Jesse was diagnosed with a mild case of sleep apnea. As a result, I now have to sleep with Darth Vader in my bed!

AutoPap

The home health guy came yesterday to drop off the machine and do a quick demonstration of how it works. For the most part it is pretty quiet, but if he stops breathing deep enough, the pressure goes up and it makes a Darth Vader noise. I guess this is a pretty common problems for CFers (and many other people), but I am not very happy about adding another machine to our family. We hope this will help with the really bad headaches he has been having and leave him feeling more rested. He wrote about more specifics on the new machine on his blog.
