Home At Last

I know we weren’t gone very long, but it feels like forever!  I spent the night in the hospital with Jesse because I didn’t think the nurses would come back often enough to get him everything he needed.  It was pretty uncomfortable sleeping with two chairs put together, but I was so tired it didn’t matter too much.  The nurses did offer to try to find a roll-away bed, but I was already curled up and falling asleep so I was not moving again.  By the time morning came I kinda wished I had taken the bed.  I was pretty sore, but I actually slept fairly well.

Jesse is almost back to his normal self.  He still has a lot of pain, but you can tell he feels so much better than yesterday.  We were allowed to leave the hospital and got home around lunch time today.  We both took a nice long nap as soon as we got home.  He goes back to the doctor on Thursday to get some stitches and packing removed, and he is supposed to be taking it easy until then.  Thanks so much for all of your prayers and well-wishes… they meant a lot to us.

Jesse all better

    Kristin,
We’ve spent many a night in the hospital, mostly with Rachel, but quite a few with Jesse, too. We sure know how you feel. It isn’t any fun, but it does bring you closer together, I think. I don’t remember ever having to sleep in two chairs, though; they usually had a special chair that folded out into a very small and uncomfortable bed.

I hope the hospital pays you for all the nursing care you provided on their behalf. It’s a shame you can’t get decent care at night in a hospital.

Glad to hear that you both made it through OK. We pray for quick healing with no complications.
Sending love to you both :>)
